Hey What is that on The Roof ?
The deck also has a hand rail all the way around made of bamboo cut from the stand of bamboo on Michigan Ave Of course we had the owners permission to take his bamboo.

The roof was tar and gravel when we bought the building and had a
makeshift roof access made of wood.
We bought a metal roof hatch at a school auction for $5.00 and
installed it when we replaced the roof with standing seam metal
that was given to us five years before we needed it, see it pays to
keep stuff around.
We wanted to use all that outdoor space so we constructed a deck.
First board
Laying it out
Framing the deck
The first boards have been tied down
to the deck, the next boards are all
screwed down.
All the materials are
carried up two
flights of stairs (26
steps in the first
flight alone)
Getting going now
Decking down just in time for the rain
Next day the Gazebo goes up
Attached the pots to the deck, planted flowers
and herbs. Brought up chairs, just wonderful.
A really cool place
to hang out
First coat of paint down
Putting on an addition for the pool these guys work all the time

Some photos of the roof being enjoyed be it a swim or football on the big screen or a beverage at the Tikki bar
|
We have had people bring photographers here to use this area as background and we have taken lots from here ourselves as sunsets are wonderful as is the moon and stars
As always I need to add more photos these were last updated September 2006
