The storefront side once the bar side Both Bruno's bar and Essie May's bar was on this side of the building but it had been closed on this side for years when we bought the building and the bar had moved to the other side of the building due to leaking coolers rotting the floors. All the old bar stuff had been stripped from the building long ago. * the movie Stars and Bars was filmed on this side of the building when the bar was up and running, you can see much of the old decor in the movie. The windows were painted over and the room went all the way back the length of the building. The front low windows to the basement were boarded over from the outside, it was full of debris and all the paint was pealing off the walls.
We cleaned it all out, removed the flaking paint, built a wall, painted it all and decorated

On the outside we removed the wood that covered the front basement windows located under the front display windows, replaced missing glass cleaned up everything and painted a mural on the plywood where one window was missing

These are some of the cast offs, yard sale items, flea market finds and auction treasures I have reworked for the place. What can I say my grandfather Appling was a junk man I love this stuff. I found this building by going to the city wide yard sale that happens every first Saturday in October when I found the building it was 1999 and the Crazy Horse saloon was closed and out of business for good. I loved the building from the start as well as all the junk that I fixed to go here.

Birdcage lamp cage found in basement in poor shape

This chair was in really good shape just an ugly color, it is a leather seat, leather paints well with watered down acrylics.

The counter was the old Dollar Store counter, a give away when they got new ones in, some paint and dollar a yard fabric made a big difference.

The stools came from my dad and kids, grand kids and now great-grand kids (of his) have ridden lots of miles on them. He called them Camel Saddles but I am sure they were made to be bar stools. I love them no matter what they are and now that Dad has passed away they are even more special to me.
